Hire & Fire employment law podcast – Proposed changes to the Swedish Employment Protection Act and its consequences for the employers
Following several years of heated debates and political discussions about a reform of the Swedish Employment Protection Act, the government has presented a government bill on an amended Employment Protection Act, proposed to be applied from 1 October 2022.
The bill includes the most significant changes to Swedish employment protection in 30 years. Included are, among other things, additional exemptions to the priority rule, an amendment to the right to remain employed during a dispute about a termination and several limitations to the possibility to contract temporary agency workers.
In this episode of Hire & Fire, our employment lawyers Peder Boström and Hilda Cangemark discuss the most important effects that the amendments will have on the day-to-day business of the employers. In what ways will the amendments affect the possibility to contract temporary agency workers?
