Hire & Fire employment podcast – new rules regarding the Coronavirus
In December 2020, the Swedish Work Environment Authority (WEA) decided that all employers, regardless of the industry they operate in, must report incidents of the Coronavirus. Before this decision, only employers with a greater risk of exposure were required to do so.
The new rules raise questions. What kind of incidents must be reported? Can an employer even gain access to the information needed to report incidents to the WEA? In this episode of Roschier’s employment law podcast, our experts discuss the new rules and their consequences in practice. Guidelines are also given to employers on how best to deal with incidents and how to be in compliance with important regulations, such as the GDPR.
Our employment law experts analyze the rules on reporting serious incidents and why employers are obliged to report such information. It is also discussed whether the new requirements can be met by employers legitimately.
