Laila Sivonen elected Partner

The recent promotion adds strength to Roschier's Dispute Resolution and Corporate Investigations & Compliance practices.

Helsinki-based Principal Associate Laila Sivonen has been elected Partner starting 1 June 2023. She is specialized in commercial dispute resolution as well as corporate compliance and ethics. She joined Roschier in 2013.

Laila’s practice covers arbitration, civil and administrative litigation as well as alternative dispute resolution. In addition to being involved in a number of major arbitrations and litigations, she has had a key role in several complex, international investigations relating to suspicions of misconduct and white-collar crime. She also frequently advises clients on regulatory compliance, risk minimization strategies as well as crisis and reputation management.

“The trend is that cases are getting bigger and more complex, which increases the demand for cross-practice and cross-border cooperation. At the same time, there is a lot happening in the compliance & investigations field, and we expect the demand for compliance-related investigations work to continue among our clients. All this fits Laila’s profile and experience, as well as our plans for the practice, very well,” comments Aapo Saarikivi, Head of our Dispute Resolution practice in Finland.

“The current market landscape calls for advisors with experience in projects of high complexity and unpredictability. Laila’s core competences represent the kind of capabilities that are in high demand, and the promotion recognizes her commitment to value creation to our clients. We are very happy to welcome her to the partnership,” says Roschier’s Managing Partner Mikko Manner.
