Lectures on defence and security procurement
The need for understanding the complexities of defence and security procurement is in high demand, and our procurement expert Juhani Matinlassi has been asked to give lectures on the topic to government authorities and economic operators.
In the wake of the clear increase in defence spending generally and the resulting uptake in the Finnish defence and security sector and procurement activities therein, the need for understanding the complexities of defence and security procurement is in high demand.
Senior Associate Juhani Matinlassi is a seasoned expert in this field, and during Spring, he will be giving online in-depth training sessions at the Finnish Institute of Public Management (HAUS) with varying themes, as well as a day-long course in cooperation with the Association of Finnish Defence and Aerospace Industries AFDA, aimed specifically to the bidders active in the field.
“The sessions are mainly geared towards government authorities and economic operators separately and will provide a deep dive into the application of the relevant rules governing defence and security procurement, intricacies of building the procurement procedures themselves and taking part in the competitive tenderings as a bidder” says Juhani Matinlassi.
Among the matters he will be discussing are basic aspects to defence and security procurement, such as how to consider and set workable requirements for critical issues like security of supply and security of information. He will also cover the more specific aspects of this field, especially the various exemptions to public procurement rules and their proper application.
