Mergermarket: Roschier is the Finland M&A Legal Adviser of the Year 2020

Roschier has received Mergermarket’s European M&A Awards 2020 - Finland M&A Legal Adviser of the Year Award. The M&A awards recognize excellence in M&A advisory during an incredibly volatile year for dealmakers. Roschier received the award also in 2015 and 2013.

The Finland M&A Legal Adviser of the Year Award was given in recognition of Roschier advising clients in a number of the largest and most significant cross-border transactions during 2020. We represented Bain Capital in the public cash tender offer of approximately EUR 2.1 billion for Ahlstrom-Munksjö Oyj and acted for Boels Topholding in its EUR 614 million public cash tender offer for Cramo Plc. In Alfa Laval’s recommended public cash tender offer of EUR 1.7 billion for Neles Corporation we represented Neles.

“This year’s M&A award winners have demonstrated their ability to adapt to the headwinds and deliver value for clients – in the face of unprecedented complexity and volatility. Congratulations to all of this year’s successful firms”, says John West, Managing Editor in Europe of Mergermarket.

“We are grateful for our client’s continued trust and proud of our versatile M&A team’s strong cross-border competence and resilience. These challenging times have made us find new solutions and ways of working in order to give our clients the best possible advice,” say Partners Antti Ihamuotila and Jouni Salmi, Heads of Roschier’s Public and Private M&A practices respectively.

The Mergermarket European M&A awards are among the most highly-regarded recognitions in the industry. The nominations are based on Mergermarket league table analysis in the qualifying period (Q4 2019 – Q3 2020) – the top firms by volume and top by value in each region make the cut. The winners are selected based on comprehensive analysis using M&A data from Mergermarket’s league tables by a panel of independent judges. In their considerations, the judges assess criteria such as the strategic, innovative and complex nature of the deals worked on.
