Roschier Disputes Index 2018: Enforcement
The recently published 2018 edition surveys enforcement-related experiences among the largest companies in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, including themes such as debt collection, enforcement of judgments and external funding of legal proceedings.
The fifth edition of the Roschier Disputes Index, Roschier’s biennial survey on dispute resolution in the Nordics, has been published. The survey, conducted together with Kantar Sifo Prospera, investigates and tracks developments in Nordic companies’ view of commercial dispute resolution and management of their disputes. Altogether 143 organizations responded to this year’s survey.
The previous surveys all focused on the same or similar core questions, with the addition of certain new elements along the way. For the 2018 edition a special theme, enforcement, was chosen. The survey examined matters such as debt-collection and asked whether on-payment is a on the rise, and whether cross-border relationships are more vulnerable to debt collection problems.
The findings of the survey were presented in a launch event in Helsinki on Thursday 12 April by Eva Storskrubb, Dispute Resolution Counsel, Roschier. The presentation was followed by a panel discussion, in which Heidi Merikalla-Teir, Arbitration Institute of the Finland Chamber of Commerce, Christiane Deniger, Calunius Capital, London, Priha Pohjanpalo, Metso Corporation, and Jakob Dahl Mikkelsen, Kromann Reumert, Copenhagen elaborated the topic further and answered the questions from the audience. The discussion was moderated by Aapo Saarikivi, Partner, Roschier.
After the panel discussion, Petri Taivalkoski, Partner, Roschier, thanked the panelists and the audience and invited the guests to continue the evening over some food and drinks on the top floor of Roschier’s new office.
