Roschier represented Quebec in the acquisition of the Helsinki Shipyard
Roschier represented the Province of Quebec in the acquisition of the Helsinki Shipyard from Russian Algador Holdings. The acquisition by Quebec was completed together with Inocea Group company Davie, a privately owned international marine industrial group.
The two industry-leading companies of Arctic shipbuilding will join forces in the construction of icebreakers, warships and ferries for governments and commercial customers. The shipyards in Canada and Finland will be distinct legal and operating entities, while the business headquarters will remain in Québec.
Davie signed the agreement in April, followed by securing the land on a 50-year lease from the City of Helsinki, which occurred in July. The acquisition was critical for ensuring the continuance of the activities of the Helsinki Shipyard.
Roschier’s core advisory team consisted of Toni Siimes, Jonne Järvi, Ami Paanajärvi, Hanna-Mari Immonen, Tuure Leponiemi, Mattias Brännkärr, Riikka Venäläinen and Paula Airas.
