Roschier strengthens its competition and regulatory capabilities

Our competition team strengthens its expertise in state aid, foreign direct investment, and sector specific regulation by welcoming a new senior lawyer.

The relevance of state aid, FDI, competition neutrality and sector specific regulation  has increased considerably for many of our clients. To continue to answer to the heightened demand for strategic legal advice concerning these fields, Roschier has added a senior competition expert to its EU & Competition practice in Helsinki.

Lasse Nordström, a graduate of Helsinki law school, is a significant profile in competition law and joins Roschier after several years at another major law firm in Helsinki. Lasse has substantial experience in advising clients on state aid, public procurement, and industry-specific regulatory matters in areas such as healthcare, media, energy and infrastructure, telecoms, and gaming.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lasse to our team. He adds both breadth and depth to our team’s offering and brings regulatory experience from several industries which will undoubtedly offer invaluable support to our clients”, comments Ami Paanajärvi, Partner and Head of Roschier’s EU & Competition practice in Finland.

“Roschier’s seamless cross-border capabilities and strong Nordic client base is an appealing combination. I am very excited to be part of the team and to contribute to providing first-class industry-specific regulatory services and competition law advice to our clients”, Lasse Nordström comments.

Lasse Nordström’s arrival follows the appointment of competition and regulatory expert Mikko Alkio to Partner at Roschier in November 2022. With Mikko and Lasse onboard, the team is well versed in terms of providing an improved M&A and advisory offering in regulated industries and sectors in the Nordics.

Roschier’s cross-border EU & Competition practice advises leading companies in complex competition, procurement, FDI and sector specific regulatory matters – not only on a national level but also before the EU Commission and the EU courts. The team works closely with our tier 1 M&A, Dispute Resolution, and IP & Technology practices in providing clients an unrivaled Nordic full-service platform. The team and its experts are consistently top ranked by all leading international legal directories such as Chambers Europe and Global, The Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal.
